Fabrizio Romano has ruled out any agreement between Chelsea and Corinthians for 18-year-old Barcelona target Gabriel Moscardo.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea do not have an agreement with Corinthians for Gabriel Moscardo. The 18-year-old remains a hot topic in the European markets, as many expect him to move out of Brazil during the January transfer window.

Plenty of chatter has surrounded 18-year-old Gabriel Moscardo, especially in the last few weeks. The teenager has attracted plenty of interest from top clubs across this side of the world, with some usual names keeping constant tabs on his situation.

A few days ago, a report from Goal Brasil revealed Chelsea had made an offer, which remained on the table despite being well below Corinthians’ valuations. The Brazilian outfit are embroiled in new presidential elections and could make an imminent decision on the 18-year-old’s future.

PSG are also in the race, per the latest update on Moscardo, which gives Corinthians ample hope about a good price for their promising star. Arsenal are considered strong contenders for the 18-year-old, as Mikel Arteta could also look to make a move.

Barcelona were once favourites to sign him. But the growing interest from other clubs may have increased Moscardo’s price tag. The 18-year-old may move to one of the English clubs or PSG if finances matter, although no player would refuse to join Barcelona.

Meanwhile, as per Brazilian commentator Craque Neto of a Brazilian publication, Chelsea had already sealed an agreement with Corinthians for Moscardo. The claim has been corrected and refuted by the notable Fabrizio Romano, who insists there is no agreement between the two parties for the 18-year-old.

Romano has claimed that plenty of clubs are keen on Moscardo, but Chelsea have no agreement with Corinthians about a January move. The likelihood of him moving in January is high, considering that is a favourable period for South American clubs to do business with their European counterparts.

Now, there are questions about where Moscardo might end up joining. While Romano refuted the claim about the Chelsea agreement, he did not rule the Blues out of the race and claimed they have remained interested since August. Hence, the race remains wide open for the teenager, as a transfer battle could ensue, which could benefit Corinthians.
