According to a report by 90min, Barcelona are keen on having Gabriel Moscardo in their ranks. The Catalan giants are still on the lookout for a new defensive midfielder. They want someone who can help them in the long run and feel the Brazilian teenager could be a great fit for the club.

Gabriel Moscardo has come up the ranks at Corinthians. He made it to their first team in the summer and he already has 22 appearances for the first team while playing a decent role in the 2023 season for the Brazilian club.

His impressive rise and exceptional potential have attracted a lot of attention. During the summer, Chelsea were keen on having him in their ranks. The Blues have been focused on signing young players with huge potential. And, they submitted an offer for the 18-year-old defensive midfielder as they considered him to be a great fit for the club.

But, the Brazilian club rejected the offer as the player wanted to continue at Corinthians until the end of the year. With the winter window coming up, the Blues are expected to return for the Brazilian youth international. But, they will have to battle it out with Barcelona.

The Catalan giants are looking for a long-term replacement for Sergio Busquets, who parted ways with the club in the summer. They might have signed 32-year-old Oriol Romeu to temporarily fill the void. But Barcelona are still looking for a young player who can help them in the long run.

People at the club feel Moscardo could be a great fit for the club and that he has the potential to be a great player. They are keen on having him in their ranks and are expected to push for him in the upcoming transfer window. According to the report, the player would prefer joining the Catalan giants over Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are also interested in the 18-year-old’s services. The Gunners have been keeping a close eye on him of late and could make a move for his services. There might not be anything concrete from their end yet but they could switch gears in the winter with Thomas Partey out injured.
