Arsenal are quite serious about their pursuit of the 24-year-old Napoli striker Victor Osimhen amidst interest from Chelsea.

According to a report by TEAMtalk, Arsenal are keen on having Victor Osimhen in their ranks. The Gunners are looking to sign a world-class striker in the near future and the 24-year-old Napoli ace is at the top of their list. They have set aside a significant amount of funds to land the Nigerian international at the club.

Osimhen has been on fire over the past 18 months. Last season, he scored goals for fun and helped Napoli end their drought for the Serie A title. His impressive performances resulted in a total of interest during the summer but the Naples-based club managed to hold onto their star.

The interest in the 24-year-old’s services remains intact and quite a few clubs are ready to make a move for him. Arsenal and Chelsea are two clubs that have been linked with the Nigerian international of late.

The Blues have been monitoring him for over a year now. They are quite convinced about the fact that Osimhen would be a great fit for the club and he will help them take the next step. Meanwhile, Chelsea are expected to wait until the end of the season before making a move.

Arsenal have also entered the race for the 24-year-old. The Gunners already have two quality strikers in their ranks. But, they haven’t been able to score enough goals. As a result, Mikel Arteta feels he needs to sign a new world-class player.

The Spanish manager is a big admirer of Osimhen and he would love to have the Nigerian international at his disposal. The club are aware of the fact that a new star forward could help them push for the Premier League title that they haven’t won since 2004.

As the Gunners are well aware of the importance of a new forward, they have kept aside a huge amount of funds to land him at the Napoli ace at the club. According to the report, Arsenal could fork out £120 million to land him at the club.
