Arsenal and Manchester United are keen on signing Pedro Neto, with the Gunners leading the race to sign the £60 million-rated Portuguese international.

According to a report by TEAMtalk, Pedro Neto is becoming popular in the transfer market. Arsenal and Manchester United are among the clubs interested in the Portuguese international, valued at £60 million by Wolverhampton Wanderers. And the Gunners are the front-runners in the race to sign the in-demand winger.

Pedro Neto has made gradual progress since joining Wolverhampton Wanderers from Lazio in August 2019. The 23-year-old was one of the best young prospects in the world when he arrived at the Molineux. But fitness issues have curtailed his progress, although he has started the 2023/24 season well.

The Portuguese international has a solid tally of one goal and seven assists in ten appearances thus far this term. But Neto has picked up another injury, with a hamstring issue keeping him on the sidelines. Meanwhile, the player’s exploits this season have not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of many high-profile clubs. Arsenal and Manchester United are among his prospective suitors.

The former SC Braga prospect has been on Arsenal’s radar for a long time. The Gunners remain interested in acquiring Neto’s services, especially amid his improving performance levels. Meanwhile, the player is aware of Arsenal’s eagerness to sign him and is open to joining them.

The North London giants have two top-class wide attackers. But Mikel Arteta wants two quality options for every position, thus explaining the interest in Pedro Neto. But Arsenal will not be alone in the race to sign the Portuguese international, with Manchester United also keen.

Manchester United can do with a top-quality right-winger, with Jadon Sancho and Antony failing to make their mark at Old Trafford. But they must offload at least one of the two underperforming attackers to land the 23-year-old. Meanwhile, Wolverhampton Wanderers will demand £60 million to part ways with Neto.

The report has also pointed to Arsenal being in the pole position to secure Pedro Neto’s services. So Manchester United will face an uphill task to land the £60 million-rated Portuguese international, with a move away from the Molineux on the cards.
