Wolverhampton Wanderers’ 23-year-old winger Pedro Neto is open to the idea of joining Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.

According to a report by Football Insider, Pedro Neto is keen on joining Arsenal in the near future. The 23-year-old has been in sensational form in the 2023-24 season so far and he has been linked with a move to the London club of late.

Neto joined Wolves back in the summer of 2019 from Lazio. The English club paid a reported fee of around £16 million for the services of the Portuguese international.

He has gone from strength to strength since joining the English club. While he did struggle with injuries over the past few seasons, Neto has managed to bounce back to his best in the ongoing campaign.

Overall, he has featured in 118 matches for Wolves and has contributed towards 29 goals. Last season he didn’t have the best of times as he could only feature in 21 matches because of injuries. Neto was on the pitch for just over 1,000 minutes and had just two goal contributions.

But, he has started the 2023-24 season in some fashion. In his seven Premier League outings, the 23-year-old has bagged four assists and has also found the back of the net once.

His impressive performances have attracted a lot of attention and Arsenal are one of the clubs keen on having him in their ranks. The Gunners have been interested in Neto for a while now. They even wanted to sign him during the summer but couldn’t strike a deal for his services.

However, they still remain interested and could make a move in the near future. The Gunners want to sign him in the winter in order to bolster their attack and push for major titles in the 2023-24 season. However, Wolves are unlikely to let him leave mid-way through the season.

But, they might be forced to sell him next summer. The 23-year-old’s contract at the English club runs until the summer of 2027 but they might have to consider offloading him next summer due to Financial Fair Play reasons.

They are not in the best of financial conditions and in order to avoid any FFP sanctions they will have to offload one of their stars in 2024 despite having sold a few already this summer.

Arsenal are keen on having him in their ranks and the player is also ready to quit Wolves to join the Gunners. Neto wants to join a club with a more ambitious project and he feels joining Mikel Arteta’s team could be a great step forward for him in his career.
