Bayern Munich will not sign Trevoh Chalobah in January

Bayern Munich are not interested in Trevoh Chalobah, as per Fabrizio Romano, who insists the 24-year-old Chelsea ace will leave in January.

According to Fabrizio Romano via Caught Offside, Bayern Munich have cooled their interest in Trevoh Chalobah. The Italian journalist believes the 24-year-old Chelsea ace will leave the Blues in January, but the Bavarians are out of the equation as things stand.

Trevoh Chalobah continues to face a difficult period at Chelsea, with the versatile defender suffering a fresh setback with his injury. Now, the 24-year-old will not return until early January; around then, he could even leave the club.

Many clubs had shown an interest in the 24-year-old Chelsea ace when the summer transfer window was about to close. Tottenham and Bayern Munich wanted moves but had to deal with complications of various kinds in their pursuit.

Bayern Munich are still in the hunt for a defender ahead of January, but as per Fabrizio Romano, they are no longer pursuing Chalobah. The Germans wanted a loan move at the end of the summer window but could not complete the deal owing to the early closure of the Bundesliga window.

Romano said, “I have told you multiple times that Trevoh Chalobah will not stay at Chelsea beyond the January transfer window as he wants to play regular football,.”

“There are rumours about many clubs showing interest in the player from England and Germany. I want to clarify that for Bayern Munich, Chalobah is no longer a priority. He was a priority on Deadline Day this summer as he had previously played under Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea. But the deal collapsed because of the different closing times of the transfer windows in each country.”

“There are possibilities in other countries for Chalobah in January, including England, so let’s see what happens.”

With Bayern not keen on Chalobah, Tottenham have also cooled their interest as they are are unsure about the fitness of the 24-year-old Chelsea ace. They might wait until summer to try again.

Bayern might have taken a similar approach in their quest but have other targets in mind. Arsenal will not entertain offers to sell Takehiro Tomiyasu after a great start to his season.

Bayern will likely pursue other targets, although they would have wanted Tomiyasu if the gates were open. Arsenal are ready to open contract talks with the versatile defender, which could see the Bavarians move on to other names.

As for Chalobah, Chelsea are keen to cash in on him, as they have other defensive players in their squad. Amid FFP concerns, a sale of the utility man would see the club profit and ease their troubles in balancing the books.
