Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are frontrunners for the signatures of 22-year-old Fluminense defensive midfielder Andre Trindade.

According to Sport via SportWitness, Liverpool are keen on having Andre Trindade in their ranks. The 22-year-old defensive midfielder has been on their radar for a while now and they will once again push for his services in the winter transfer window.

Andre has come through the ranks at Fluminense. He made it to their first team in March 2021 and has gone from strength to strength since. He has featured in a total of 163 matches for the Brazilian club and has also chipped in with seven goals.

His impressive performances have resulted in him being called up to the Brazilian national team. Despite being just 22, he has made quite a reputation for himself and some of the biggest clubs want to acquire his services.

Liverpool are one of the clubs keen on having him in their ranks. The Merseyside club have been monitoring him for a long while now. They wanted to sign him in the summer and even submitted an offer for his services. But, failed to land him at the club.

Even the player has confirmed that it was difficult for him to reject the Reds as he decided to continue with Fluminense until the end of their season. The Merseyside club are now once again willing to try their luck in the winter. Their scouts were present in the stands to watch Andre in action in the Copa Libertadores final victory over Boca Juniors.

Jurgen Klopp’s men seem well prepared this time around as they look to complete their midfield overhaul with the signing of a young defensive midfielder. Meanwhile, reports suggest that players will most likely make a move to a bigger club in the winter.

Even the Brazilian club are expecting offers worth around €35 million in January. According to the report, Liverpool are leading the race for his services but they do have competition in Barcelona. The Catalan giants signed 32-year-old Oriol Romeu in the summer to cope with the absence of Sergio Busquets.

But, they still want to add a young defensive midfielder to sort things out for the long term and the 22-year-old seems to be an ideal fit. However, they will find it difficult because of the finances involved and Liverpool’s high interest in his services.
