Reigning La Liga champions Barcelona have sealed the deal to sign 16-year-old African attacking sensation Ibrahim Diarra.

According to reputed Spanish journalist Albert Roge, Ibrahim Diarra is the latest young prospect to join Barcelona. The reigning La Liga champions have sealed the agreement to sign the 16-year-old Academie Africa Foot attacking sensation. The teenage wonderkid will arrive at the Catalan club at the end of next year.

Ibrahim Diarra is one of the brightest young prospects in Africa. The Malian wonderkid has come leaps and bounds at Academie Africa Foot in the last few years. In addition, he captains Mali’s Under-17 team and recently led them at the most recent FIFA Under-17 World Cup.

The 16-year-old is still a youth player and has yet to turn out on the first-team level. A right-winger by trade, the teenage sensation is known for his directness in the final third and eye for goal. Diarra’s progress has not gone unnoticed, and he will join Barcelona when he turns 18 at the end of next year.

The reigning La Liga champions are renowned for constantly scouring the market for the brightest young prospects. Such an outlook has helped Barcelona sign current first-team regulars like Gavi and Pedri. Meanwhile, they recently beat the competition to land players like Pablo Torre, Mikayil Faye, and Trilli.

Meanwhile, the Catalan giants remain in the market for promising prodigies, with recent reports claiming they lead the race to sign Gabriel Moscardo. But before the Brazilian wonderkid joins Barcelona, they will have secured the services of Ibrahim Diarra, the 16-year-old African attacking sensation.

The teenage wonderkid will not join Barcelona immediately as he is not 18 years old yet. FIFA rules prohibit European clubs from signing players aged under 18 from outside the continent. Diarra will turn 18 in December 2024, meaning he will arrive at the Catalan club at the end of next year.

Diarra will likely join a youth team when he completes his move to Barcelona. But if he continues on his upward trajectory, the 16-year-old African attacking sensation might become a long-term solution in the final third alongside Lamine Yamal.
