Inter Milan will reportedly look to sign 21-year-old Real Madrid prospect Reinier Jesus when his loan stint with Frosinone ends.

According to a report by Italian outlet Calciomercato, Reinier Jesus is the subject of interest from Inter Milan. The Serie A giants are scouring the market for an attacking midfielder ahead of the 2024 summer transfer window. And the Nerazzurri might approach Real Madrid for the Brazilian prospect once his loan stint with Frosinone ends.

Reinier Jesus has struggled to make his mark since joining Real Madrid from Flamengo in a deal worth €30 million. The 21-year-old was a big deal in his homeland, with pundits drawing comparisons with the legendary Kaka. However, he has failed to live up to the hype and expectations during his time in Europe.

The Brazilian attacker spent two years on loan at Borussia Dortmund but was a peripheral figure at Signal Iduna Park. His next loan stint, at Girona FC, did not work out either, as he failed to stamp his authority at the Catalan club. So, widespread reports in the summer transfer window suggested Real Madrid might sell Reinier.

But another loan move beckoned as Deadline Day approached in the summer transfer window. The youngster joined Frosinone on loan from Real Madrid in the final hours before the window shut down. While Reinier was slow off the blocks, he has settled down well to become a pivotal figure for the Serie A outfit.

The 21-year-old Brazilian prospect has a decent tally of two goals and two assists in six outings thus far. So, with the youngster making good progress at Frosinone, a bright future might be on the horizon. And Reinier’s exploits have not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of Inter Milan.

The Nerazzurri might see Hakan Calhanoglu leave in the summer transfer window amid escalating interest in his services. In addition, Henrikh Mkhitaryan is well into his thirties and approaching the end of his career. So, it behoves Inter Milan to invest in an attacking midfielder, with Florian Wirtz recently emerging as a target.

Reinier is also an option worth considering, especially as he continues gaining experience in Serie A. But it is unclear if the Italian giants want to secure his services on a loan deal or a permanent transfer. That said, the interest is in its infancy, and it will be interesting to see if they approach Real Madrid for the 21-year-old.
