Chelsea are currently uninterested in selling Ukrainian attacker Mykhailo Mudryk and consider him an important part of the future.

Fabrizio Romano, via Caught Offside, has claimed that Chelsea have no plans to sell Mykhailo Mudryk and consider him an important part of their plans. The Ukrainian star has struggled for most parts since joining the club last January in a €100 million deal but has recently seen a surge in his form.

Mykhailo Mudryk has experienced a solid upturn in form, scoring three times in recent games for club and country. The Chelsea star capped off a fine performance against Arsenal with a rather fortunate goal. But that was the moment needed for the €100 million attacker to kick-start his time in front of the Stamford Bridge crowd.

Chelsea made a big effort last January to convince the Ukranian to join them ahead of Arsenal, who had done most of the groundwork to sign him. Eventually, Chelsea paid what was deemed necessary to sign the €100 million attacker and bring him to Stamford Bridge.

The game against the Gunners and his goal carried a lot of emphasis for the young star, who had thoroughly struggled before that. Some reports even suggested Chelsea were ready to sell him in the summer but kept him on board.

His performances seriously made many wonder whether Chelsea were better off without him. There were also rumours of Juventus demanding Mudryk as part of a deal for Dusan Vlahovic, but neither move materialised in the end.

Since he also had a difficult start to the current season alongside many of his other teammates, further reports claimed Chelsea thought about loaning Mudryk out for a considerable period. However, with the change in the trajectory of the €100 million attacker, he may have got himself a much-needed breakthrough in the team.

Now, Fabrizio Romano insisted that Chelsea were not planning on letting the player leave ahead of the January window. He said, ‘It was never the case that Chelsea would let the player leave in the summer or in any other moment,’

‘They trusted Mudryk then, they still trust him now and Chelsea think that we are still not saying the best of him. It will take time of course but the club believe he is going to be a big star in the future.’

Mudryk will have a big part to play this season, with Mauricio Pochettino continuing to tinker with that left-wing slot. Besides the Ukranian, he has also played several other players, including Raheem Sterling and even Ben Chilwell there. So, to consolidate his place there, Mudryk needs to start putting in consistent performances and impress his manager.
