Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk has not been able to live up to the expectations since his big-money move to Stamford Bridge.

A report from Fichajes claims that Chelsea are now looking to loan Mykhailo Mudryk out when the transfer window reopens in January. The Ukrainian international arrived at Stamford Bridge in the January transfer window this year.

The 22-year-old joined Chelsea at the start of the year and it will be interesting to see if he can impress Mauricio Pochettino with his performances between now and the end of the year. He is yet to score a single goal for Chelsea across any competition.

The former Shakhtar Donetsk winger was expected to hit the ground running and transform Chelsea in the final third with his pace and goalscoring ability. Arsenal were extremely keen on signing the player as well. But Chelsea managed to win the race for his services.

Mudryk is undoubtedly a quality talent, but he needs to adapt to the Premier League quickly and make a significant impact in order to convince Pochettino that he deserves to stay at the club beyond January.

Chelsea looked quite toothless in the attack last season and the improvement this season has been marginal. They will need to improve further in order to qualify for the UEFA Champions League and push for trophies.

Someone like Mudryk could be a useful option for them in the final third if he manages to recapture his peak form. The 22-year-old is versatile enough to operate on either flank and he will add goals and assists to the site as well.

It will be interesting to see if the Ukrainian international can get back into a rhythm over the next few weeks. Mauricio Pochettino’s free-flowing attacking system might be able to get the best out of him once again.

If the player is made available for a loan transfer in January, he is unlikely to have any shortage of suitors. The Ukrainian is still only 22 and he has plenty of time to continue his development and fulfill his potential. If it does not work out for him at Chelsea, the player will have opportunities to resurrect his career at another club.
