Real Madrid will happily cough up €40 million to sign Spanish international defender Robin Le Normand from Real Sociedad.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Robin Le Normand is the subject of interest from Real Madrid. The Merengues are scouring the market for a centre-back ahead of the 2024 summer transfer window. And they are willing to shell out €40 million to sign the Spanish international defender from Real Sociedad.
Robin Le Normand spent his formative years in his native France before arriving in Spain in July 2016. Real Sociedad snapped him up as a budding teenage prospect and assigned him to the reserve side. The 26-year-old had to bide his time before breaking into the first-team squad, which happened in November 2018.
Since then, Le Normand has come leaps and bounds, becoming a mainstay at the back for La Real while attaining Spanish citizenship to make his debut for La Roja. Meanwhile, the player has turned out nearly 200 times thus far for Real Sociedad, chipping in with five goals and six assists.
Meanwhile, Le Normand’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs. Recent reports have linked him with Premier League bigwigs like Liverpool, Manchester United, and Arsenal. But the Spanish international defender is also a target for Real Madrid.
Real Madrid’s interest in Le Normand stems from the recent injury crisis that engulfed the defensive unit. Antonio Rudiger was the only available centre-back for Carlo Ancelotti, as David Alaba and Eder Militao were injured. Meanwhile, Rudiger and Alaba are on the wrong side of 30, with Nacho approaching the final phase of his career.
So, it behoves Real Madrid to invest in a centre-back in the 2024 summer transfer window. Robin Le Normand has thus emerged as a viable target for Los Blancos. And the Spanish giants are ready to fork out €40 million to prise the 26-year-old away from fellow La Liga club Real Sociedad.

It is unclear if €40 million will be enough to land the Spanish international defender. But the opportunity to join Real Madrid might be too hard to turn down, even though several Premier League bigwigs are also interested.
