A report by El Universal via Sport Witness has claimed that Tottenham are preparing an offer to sign 24-year-old Club America defender Sebastian Caceres during the January transfer window.

West Ham United are eyeing up a move for the Uruguayan centre-back as well. Caceres has been an important player for Club America, and it will be interesting to see if they are prepared to sell him midway through the season.

Tottenham could certainly use more options at their disposal, and a deeper squad would allow them to do well across multiple competitions. They have started the season really well, and signing quality players in January will help them finish strongly. So, the interest in Caceres is understandable.

Tottenham are still unbeaten in the Premier League and will be looking to push for the title. If they can sustain this run of form until the January transfer window, they should look to sign a couple of quality players and push the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal for the league title.

The 24-year-old defender certainly has the quality to play in the Premier League, and he could prove to be a useful acquisition for the north London club.
