Arthur Vermeeren has been linked with a move away from Royal Antwerp in recent weeks, with Arsenal joining the race to sign him.

Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United and Barcelona are all interested in signing Arthur Vermeeren, as per TEAMtalk. The Belgian wonderkid is one of the most highly sought-after midfielders in the world right now.

The 18-year-old is highly rated in Europe, and he has a bright future ahead of him. He could develop into a top-class defensive midfielder with the right coaching and guidance. Arsenal could use someone like him as a long-term replacement for Thomas Partey.

Similarly, Liverpool need to sign a quality defensive midfielder as well and have set their sights on Vermeeren. They are yet to replace Fabinho and Jordan Henderson. The Reds tried to sign Moises Caicedo during the summer transfer window, but the former Brighton & Hove Albion star joined Chelsea instead.

Meanwhile, Manchester United will have to start planning for a future without Casemiro, who is in the twilight stage of his career. Vermeeren has thus emerged as a target for them. Meanwhile, Barcelona will have to find the ideal successor to club legend Sergio Busquets, and the 18-year-old could prove to be a quality long-term investment.

All four clubs could prove to be a quality move for the youngster, and it remains to be seen where he ends up. Meanwhile, recent reports have claimed that the Belgian wonderkid is aware of Barcelona’s interest in him.

Vermeeren needs to join a club where he will get ample first-team action. Sitting on the bench at a club will not benefit his development, and he needs to seek game time assurance before deciding on his future. The likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and Barcelona might be able to give him regular opportunities if he joins them in the coming months.

Manchester United will have Casemiro and Sofyan Amrabat ahead of him in the pecking order. The 18-year-old has the attributes to develop into a top-class player in the near future, and the transfer could prove to be a bargain in the long term.

Working under managers like Mikel Arteta, Erik ten Hag, Jurgen Klopp, and Xavi Hernandez will certainly help him improve further and fulfil his tremendous potential. So, it will be interesting to see what the future  has in store for him.
