Chelsea could make an €80 million move in January to sign Duisan Vlahovic, although the move will prove complicated for several factors.

According to Calcio Mercato, Chelsea are keen on Dusan Vlahovic and reportedly prepared to pay €80 million, including add-ons for the Serbian striker. The 23-year-old seems settled at Juventus after a complicated summer, which could draw problems for the Blues in this pursuit.

Juventus can be unpredictable at times with their transfer activity and usage of players. Under Massimiliano Allegri, the entire team somewhat struggled amid all the off-field controversies, including the points deduction owing to their financial scandal.

For instance, Dusan Vlahovic seemed very much out of place under Allegri last season, with widespread reports suggesting Juventus were, in fact, looking to sell him. Chelsea looked like the most obvious destination for the Serbian, considering the Bianconeri were keen to land Romelu Lukaku.

They might still attempt to broker a deal for Lukaku and again involve Vlahovic in negotiations if needed. The 23-year-old Serbian is wanted by Mauricio Pochettino, who has struggled without a proper No.9 this season at Chelsea.

Some reports suggested Chelsea rejected the chance to sign Vlahovic in the summer, which may have an element of truth considering so many things happened between the two clubs. Yet, at no point did the Serbian indicate he was ready to leave Juventus.

In fact, some stories claimed he seemed reluctant to join Chelsea when there was a chance. For Vlahovic, joining Juventus was a dream move, and he may want to continue here. However, the Blues are now reportedly willing to pay €80 million for the striker in January, which may tempt the Bianconeri into a sale.

It’s more than what Juventus wanted during the summer, and they may reluctantly approve of the transfer. The Italians might need money to fulfil some obligations, and that could see them sell the Serbian for a decent price.

Chelsea, who have seen links to other strikers in the market, may look at Vlahovic as a good option that will improve their attack. The Blues have struggled with only Nicolas Jackson, while other stars have underperformed.

Even if this transfer for Vlahovic materialises between the two clubs, the striker will have the ultimate choice to take the call. He seems relaxed about his future and is currently enjoying his time at Juventus since the season began, which could cast doubts over a move, at least in the January window.
