Juni Calafat has reportedly identified 19-year-old Brazilian attacking sensation Savinho as a potential offensive signing for the future.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Savinho is the subject of interest from Real Madrid. Juni Calafat has set his sights on the 19-year-old attacking sensation, currently on loan at Girona. But securing his services might be a tall order, as he harbours hopes of turning out for Manchester City.

Savio Moreira de Oliveira, better known as Savio or Savinho, is one of the best young Brazilian prospects. The teenage sensation spent most of his formative years in his homeland before graduating from the Atletico Mineiro in 2020. He grew in stature after making his first-team debut as a 16-year-old in September 2020.

That is when the 19-year-old attacking sensation rose in prominence, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs before Manchester City went into the pole position. The City Football Group eventually secured Savinho’s services in July 2022, assigning him to Ligue 2 club Troyes.

Since then, the young winger has been out on loan, gaining first-team experience at PSV Eindhoven and Girona. The latter snapped him up this past summer, landing him for the 2023/24 season. And the player has started the season well, managing one goal and two assists in five appearances thus far.

Savinho’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs. Recent reports linked him with Barcelona, with Real Madrid now joining the race to sign him. But the Merengues are only monitoring the 19-year-old Brazilian attacking sensation, with Juni Calafat setting his sights on him.

Calafat is responsible for some of the brightest young prospects at Real Madrid right now. Many of them have become core members of the first-team squad, including Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo Goes, and Federico Valverde. Savinho has now emerged as a viable target for Real Madrid.

The Spanish giants have a threadbare offensive unit after barely making any reinforcements to replace Karim Benzema, Marco Asensio, Eden Hazard, and Mariano Diaz. So, the 19-year-old Brazilian attacking sensation is a viable target. But he harbours hopes of representing Manchester City in the future. So, a move to Real Madrid might not be on the cards.
