Aaron Ramsdale has no interest in leaving Arsenal for Chelsea despite reports linking the 25-year-old with a move away from the Gunners.

According to 90 Min, Aaron Ramsdale’s representatives have not held any talks with Chelsea over a potential transfer. The 25-year-old is reluctant to leave Arsenal for their London rivals, despite links about a move which emerged in the aftermath of David Raya replacing him against Everton.

Mikel Arteta’s decision to rotate his goalkeepers has caused a furore in the media. Various outlets have come out with different interpretations of the situation, despite the Arsenal boss insisting his choice to play David Raya against Everton was merely rotation.

Arsenal take on PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League, and Ramsdale is expected to start that game. When asked about his decision to play Raya against Everton, the Gunners boss responded by saying, “I’m a really young manager and I have few regrets for what I’ve done, one of them, in two occasions I felt after 60 minutes to 85 minutes to change the keeper at that moment.”

Only a day had passed after Arsenal’s victory over the Toffees, and reports linked Ramsdale with a move to Chelsea. The story in the Daily Mail also indicated Bayern Munich were keeping track of the situation, but as things stand, that was a non-story.

Furthermore, former Premier League keeper Shaka Hislop has criticised Arteta for his decision to drop Ramsdale. As per 90 Min, Ramsdale or his representatives have had no contact with Chelsea, and the 25-year-old does not want to leave Arsenal for the Blues. The belief is that the Gunners consider Ramsdale an important part of their squad, and he has not lost his place to Raya.

Ramsdale only signed a new long-term deal with the club in May this year, and there’s no need for Arsenal to sell even if the player wants to leave. The latter’s not the case, but the Gunners have all the power in their hands.

As for Chelsea, they only made wholesale changes to their goalkeeping position during the summer. Both of their stoppers from the previous campaign left the club, while Djordje Petrovic and Robert Sanchez arrived, with the latter the current No.1 choice.

They also remained linked with a new goalkeeper, with Porto’s Diogo Costa and Valencia’s Giorgio Mamardashvili reported targets. Everton’s Jordan Pickford also features on their shortlist, which could extend as the January window comes closer.

As for their interest in Ramsadale, signing the 25-year-old from Arsenal will prove to be a difficult and expensive task for Chelsea. As things stand, the England international has no interest in leaving north London, but that could change if Arteta installs Raya as their undisputed first choice from here on.
