Leeds United are all set to offer a new lucrative contract to their 19-year-old sensation Wilfried Gnonto amidst interest from Everton.

According to a report by Football Insider, Leeds United are looking to offer Wilfried Gnonto improved terms in order to secure his future at the club. The 19-year-old sensation has been on the radar of quite a few clubs for a while now. While Leeds United managed to hold onto their player in the summer, clubs will look to return for his services in the winter. As a result, the Yorkshire outfit are ready to improve his terms in order to secure his future.

Gnonto joined Leeds last summer from FC Zurich in 2022 for a reported fee of just under £4 million. The teenage sensation had an impressive outing in his very first season in England. He featured in a total of 28 matches and contributed towards eight goals.

While he surely did his bit, the Italian international couldn’t help them avoid relegation. Ever since Leeds dropped down to the Championship, the future of Gnonto has been up in the air.

Everton were one of the clubs keen on having the Leeds forward in their ranks during the summer. They submitted multiple offers for his services. But, the Yorkshire outfit declined all offers following which the player tried to force a move away from the club.

After Gnonto expressed his desire to leave the club, he was dropped from their first-team squad. The 19-year-old missed the initial matches for the club and he was restored to the team after constructive talks late in August.

While he has returned to first-team action, his future is still the talk of the town. Everton are keen on having him in their ranks. They want to reinforce their attack having sold a few of their important players in the summer. And, they are considering pushing for his services in the winter transfer window.

Leeds are well aware of the situation and they are looking to end the talks regarding his future with a new lucrative deal. They are pushing for an immediate return to the English top flight and they believe Gnonto’s presence could make a difference.

As a result, they are willing to significantly improve his terms. The 19-year-old is amongst the lowest earners at the club with £20,000-a-week. While there are still four years left on his contract, Leeds are looking to give him a significant pay hike to keep him at the club.
