Everton are keen on acquiring the services of 19-year-old Leeds United winger Wilfried Gnonto in the winter transfer window.

According to a report by Football Insider, Everton remain interested in the services of Wilfried Gnonto. The 19-year-old sensation has been on their radar for a while now. They even tried signing him from Leeds United in the summer but failed to land him at the club. However, they haven’t lost hope and are expected to return for his services in the winter.

Gnonto came through the ranks at Inter Milan but failed to break into their first team. He joined Swiss club FC Zürich in the summer of 2020. And, after two impressive seasons in Switzerland, Leeds United acquired his services.

After joining the English club, the Italian international featured in a total of 24 Premier League matches last season and he even contributed towards six goals. While he did put in some impressive performances, those were not enough to keep them in the English top flight.

And, post their relegation to the Championship, his future became uncertain and there were quite a few clubs keen on having him in their ranks. Everton were one of the clubs that wanted to bring him back to the English top flight.

The Toffees placed multiple bids for his services but those offers were declined. The player was keen on returning to the first tier and he expressed his desire to leave. Post that, the 19-year-old was excluded from the first-team group by Daniel Farke.

After constructive talks between the player and the club, he was reinstated into the first team towards the end of the transfer window. He has even featured in the Championship as well as the EFL Cup. The Italian international looks focused on the season ahead with Leeds United but the interest in his services is still the same and Everton are looking to return for him in the winter.

The Liverpool-based club might have added players to their attack but they have also lost a lot of quality post relegation. As a result, they are willing to try again for the 19-year-old in the winter.

Leeds are well aware of the situation and they looking to sign a new deal with the teenage sensation to shut down the talks regarding his future. While the Yorkshire outfit are trying their best to keep him at the club with the help of a new improved deal, it will be interesting to see if they can reach an agreement before the winter window.

Lol…gotta laugh at the Toffees. No idea what the words not for sale means. And why would he want to leave a team who are going to be in the PL next season and join one that will be in the Championship?

  2. if Everton can and will pay 70 MILLION for him then we must THINK about selling him. Everyone else prices their top players out of the market so we should be doing the same we have got to stop almost giving away all our better players otherwise we could end up in another relegation battle instead of promotion battle
