Jorge Mendes has reportedly offered AC Milan talisman Rafael Leao, whose price tag is €100 million, to Barcelona.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Barcelona will have the chance to sign Rafael Leao in 2024. Jorge Mendes has offered the Portuguese international to the reigning La Liga champions. Meanwhile, Serie A giants AC Milan will demand around €100 million to part ways with their talisman.
Rafael Leao has established himself as one of the best players in the world since joining AC Milan from LOSC Lille in August 2019. The 24-year-old was always a highly-rated prospect during his days with Sporting CP. But he has taken his performances to the next level at San Siro.
The Portuguese international has been a talismanic figure for the Rossoneri and helped deliver a long-overdue Serie A title in the 2021/22 season. Meanwhile, Leao has started the 2023/24 campaign strongly, scoring once and providing two assists in three appearances. But the player’s AC Milan future is uncertain, with Jorge Mendes offering him to Barcelona.
Widespread reports have already linked the AC Milan talisman with several high-profile clubs, including Manchester City. And Barcelona will now have the opportunity to prise him away from the Serie A club in the 2024 summer transfer window.
Jorge Mendes shares a healthy working relationship with Barcelona. The Portuguese super-agent has helped the Blaugrana ensure smooth transfer operations of several players in the last few transfer windows. Meanwhile, he never shies away from offering his clients to Barcelona. Leao is the latest in a long line of players who have been on the Catalan club’s table.
He also pushed for Manuel Ugarte to join Barcelona from Sporting CP this past summer before he moved to Paris Saint-Germain. But Leao can be a long-term solution at the Catalan club, considering Ferran Torres is struggling to stamp his authority. But AC Milan’s asking price of €100 million complicates matters for Barcelona.

The reigning La Liga champions are in no position to afford a transfer fee of €100 million to sign a player. But Mendes will keep pushing for Leao to move to Barcelona next year.
