Chelsea still looking to sell Trevoh Chalobah

Chelsea will look to offload their 24-year-old academy graduate Trevoh Chalobah in the winter transfer window.

According to a report by Football.London, Chelsea are still looking to offload Trevoh Chalobah. The 24-year-old defender has fallen down the pecking order at the club. He is no longer a part of their plans, and they will look to get him off their books in the winter transfer window.

The Blues have been super busy in the past few transfer windows. They have done a lot of business during the windows under the new ownership of Todd Boehly. Similar was the situation in the recently-concluded transfer window, where they spent over £350 million on new signings.

They added Cole Palmer, Moises Caicedo, Romeo Lavia, Nicolas Jackson, Christopher Nkunku, Robert Sanchez and Axel Disasi to their ranks. The Blues even offloaded quite a few players during the summer. Mason Mount, Kai Havertz and N’Golo Kante are a few notable players who left Chelsea.

Despite getting rid of many players, the Blues still missed out on a few transfers. And, they will look to complete those deals when the transfer window reopens at the turn of the year. In the upcoming winter transfer window, the Blues will look to get Chalobah off their books.

The 24-year-old academy graduate, who broke into their first team back in 2021, has not had the best of times of late. He has struggled with injuries and has gone down the pecking order at the club following multiple signings in his position.

With the versatile defender not a part of Mauricio Pochettino’s plans, Chelsea did try to negotiate his departure but they couldn’t strike a deal with Bayern Munich. The German giants were looking to sign him on a season-long loan. But the Blues wanted a permanent transfer and valued him at around £50 million.

Bayern were not ready to pay such a fee for the former England international. Even Nottingham Forest were interested in his services, but the player did not want to move to Forest. In the end, he still remains a part of the Chelsea first team. But, the 24-year-old is unlikely to get much game time and they will look to offload him in January. Meanwhile, recent reports suggest Bayern could return for his services in the winter.
