Barcelona, Liverpool and Manchester United are all interested in the services of 21-year-old Spanish international Nico Williams.
According to a report by Fichajes, European giants Barcelona, Liverpool and Manchester United would all love to have Nico Williams in their ranks. The 21-year-old right winger has already established himself as a regular in the Athletic Club’s first team, and there is a lot of interest in him from across Europe.
Williams has come through the ranks at the club after joining them back in 2013. He made it to their first team in the summer of 2021 and has since featured in a total of 89 matches and has contributed towards 23 goals.
He is off to a great start in the 2023/24 season. The Spanish international has featured in four La Liga games and has contributed with as many assists. His exceptional performances over the past 18 months have attracted a lot of attention, and the fact that his contract runs out in less than 12 months makes the situation interesting for potential buyers.
While Athletic Club will look to extend his stay at the club, there is a real possibility of him leaving for free next summer. And, there is interest from some of the biggest clubs in Europe.
Barcelona are looking to bolster their right wing. They have already sold Ousmane Dembele to Paris Saint-Germain, and there is a possibility of Raphinha being sold next summer. As a result, Xavi is looking for a new right winger and he has his eyes on Williams.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are also in the race. The Red Devils might push for a new right winger next summer. The future of Antony is uncertain because of non-footballing reasons, and Jadon Sancho has gone down the pecking order following a rift with manager Erik ten Hag. As a result, they are considering signing the 21-year-old, who is versatile in nature and unbalance any defence.
The uncertainty over Mohamed Salah’s future has forced Liverpool to look for a new right winger. The Egypt international has been subject to a lot of interest from Saudi Arabia. While the Merseyside club managed to hold onto their player this summer, they might end up selling him in the winter of next summer given the figures that Middle East clubs are ready to pay.
