Nottingham Forest will be willing to fork out £25 million to sign versatile 24-year-old defender Trevoh Chalobah from Chelsea.

According to a report by Daily Mail, Trevoh Chalobah is the subject of interest from Nottingham Forest. And the Tricky Trees have submitted a proposal worth £25 million to sign the Chelsea defender. The Blues are ready to part ways with the versatile 24-year-old, who has also attracted Bayern Munich.

Trevoh Chalobah is a graduate of the fabled Chelsea youth division, like his brother before him. The Englishman joined the West London club as an eight-year-old in 2007 before rising through the ranks. But he had to bide his time and embarked on three loan spells away from Chelsea before making his first-team debut.

The 24-year-old made his first-team bow in August 2021 and has since been a dependable player due to his versatility. Chalobah has turned out 63 times thus far for Chelsea, chipping in with four goals and one assist. But with Levi Colwill becoming a regular and Axel Disasi arriving from AS Monaco, he has fallen to the bottom of the pecking order for centre-backs.

So, widespread reports have linked Chalobah with a summer departure from Chelsea. And several clubs have shown interest in the West London club’s homegrown player. These include Crystal Palace, Everton, and West Ham United. But he has been keen on joining Bayern Munich, who will look to sign him on loan.

But a move across the Premier League might be on the cards, with Nottingham Forest emerging as a suitor. And the report by Daily Mail has claimed that the Tricky Trees have submitted a bid worth £25 million to sign the versatile 24-year-old defender.

The report claims that Chelsea might consider accepting an offer in the region of £25 million as it will enable them to part ways with Chalobah in a permanent deal. But the player’s insistence on joining Bayern Munich might complicate matters for the West London club and Nottingham Forest.

It will be interesting to see if Nottingham Forest can convince Chalobah to ditch the Bayern Munich idea to join them. But a move across the Premier League in a deal worth £25 million is a possibility, even if minor.
