Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United are closing in on signing 25-year-old Chelsea full-back Marc Cucurella, with talks advanced.

According to Rudy Galetti, Manchester United are keen on having Marc Cucurella in their ranks. The Red Devils want to add a new left-back to the mix before the end of the transfer window. And they are close to acquiring the services of the 25-year-old Chelsea full-back.

Manchester United were not really planning to sign a left-back in the ongoing transfer window. They were quite happy with the options that they had. But unfortunately, a long-term injury to Luke Shaw has changed things.

Erik ten Hag’s priority now is to sign a left-back as soon as possible. With Manchester United already spending the majority of their transfer funds on Mason Mount, Andre Onana and Rasmus Højlund, they cannot really push for a permanent signing. As a result, they are looking to sign a left-back on loan. And one of their targets is Marc Cucurella.

The Red Devils have been making moves to sign the 25-year-old of late. According to recent reports, they already have an agreement on personal terms with the player. The Spanish international is ready to make the move to Manchester United, where he will have an important role in the squad.

Manchester United are now busy negotiating with Chelsea. The Blues are ready to let him leave but only on terms. They are looking for a decent loan fee, and Manchester United covering the majority of his wages. Galetti believes the Red Devils are in advanced talks with Chelsea over a loan move and there could be an agreement between all parties very soon.

The 25-year-old arrived at Chelsea last summer in a deal that was worth £62 million. He ended up featuring in 33 matches in his very first season at the club. While he was important to their plans last season, things have changed of late, and he is not the first choice under new boss Mauricio Pochettino. Now, talks between Manchester United and Chelsea have advanced for the player.

The Spanish international has not made any appearances in the Premier League this season. And with the player unlikely to have much game time, a move elsewhere could help his and Chelsea’s cause. With the deadline day almost here, Manchester United are looking to get this over the line as soon as possible.
