Serie A club Frosinone recently contacted Real Madrid to discuss a possible summer deal for 21-year-old Brazilian prospect Reinier Jesus.

According to reputed Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Reinier Jesus is the subject of interest from Frosinone. The Serie A outfit recently approached Real Madrid to discuss a deal for the 21-year-old prospect. And the two sides have reached an agreement over a loan move, with the Italian club not having a purchase option.

Reinier Jesus has struggled to make sufficient progress in his career since joining Real Madrid from Flamengo in January 2020. The Brazilian attacking midfielder was a boy wonder in his homeland and drew comparisons with Kaka. That is not light praise for a young prospect. So expectations were high when he moved to Real Madrid three and a half years ago.

The 21-year-old prospect represented Real Madrid Castilla after arriving in Spain and showed some promising signs. But his progress has come to a grinding halt since then, especially with a two-year loan stint with Borussia Dortmund not working out. And he managed only 39 outings in two seasons while chipping in with one goal and one assist.

Things went from bad to worse last season after he joined Girona on loan from Real Madrid. And Reinier turned out only 18 times across all competitions, chipping in with one goal and two assists. So the youngster has no spot in the Real Madrid first team after his last two spells away from the club.

So, the Merengues have been searching for a solution for the 21-year-old throughout the summer transfer window. Reports this year have linked him with Lazio and Atalanta. And a stint in Serie A might be on the cards for the player, albeit at a smaller club than Lazio and Atalanta, with Frosinone approaching Real Madrid over a possible loan move.

The report by Fabrizio Romano claims that Frosinone and Real Madrid have negotiated a deal for the Brazilian midfielder. The Serie A club will sign Reinier for the remainder of the 2023/24 season. However, they will not have a purchase option in the agreement.

It will be interesting to see if the 21-year-old Brazilian prospect can resurrect his stuttering career after joining Frosinone. But a spell in Serie A seems to be on the cards for the struggling youngster.
