West Ham United want to secure the services of the 23-year-old Ajax sensation Mohammed Kudus by this week.

According to a report by 90min, West Ham United are closing in on the signatures of Mohammed Kudus. The 23-year-old Ajax sensation has been on their radar for a while now, and they are looking to seal the deal by this week. Meanwhile, the Dutch giants want £38 million to part ways with the prolific attacker.

Kudus joined Ajax in the summer of 2020 and has since gone from strength to strength. Over the years, he has featured in numerous different positions. And irrespective of his role, the 23-year-old has been a consistent performer.

The Ghanaian attacking midfielder was used in more attacking roles last season. He featured in a total of 42 matches and was used as a right winger and a striker in 33 of those fixtures. Kudus ended up contributing towards 25 goals.

In the 2023/24 season, he has been involved in two matches and has contributed towards two goals. His red-hot form has attracted a lot of attention. And, there are quite a few clubs from across Europe that are keen on having him in their ranks, including West Ham United.

At this point in time, West Ham United are very close to agreeing on a deal with Ajax for his services. The Hammers were linked with numerous players in the first half of the transfer window but they ended up signing none. But, post the departure of Declan Rice, they have done some serious business.

The East London club have already added two new midfielders, James Ward-Prowse and Edson Alvarez. And, they are now looking to add a few more players to the mix. Ajax’s Mohammed Kudus is very high on their transfer target list, and they have been in talks with the Dutch club of late.

The Hammers’ technical director Tim Steidten has already travelled to Amsterdam as they look to land the 23-year-old at the club. Meanwhile, West Ham had submitted an initial offer of £34 million but it was rejected. According to the report, the Dutch club are looking for another £4 million in add-ons.

Since the London club are not far off from Ajax’s valuation, the deal is very likely to go through. They already have an agreement on personal terms in principle with Kudus. As a result, West Ham are looking to complete his acquisition this week.
