Chelsea have triggered the £35 million release clause in their pursuit of 21-year-old Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are closing in on the signatures of Michael Olise. They have been keen on acquiring his services for a while now and have finally triggered the release clause present in his Crystal Palace contract. The talks are now in the final stages and the 21-year-old could soon join the Blues.

Chelsea have been quite busy throughout the transfer window with both incoming and outgoings. Despite having already signed quite a few players, they are still looking to make some statement signings before the end of the window.

And, one of the players they are keen on adding to their ranks is the 21-year-old Palace winger. He has gone from strength to strength since joining the Eagles back in 2021 after coming through the ranks at Reading.

The French youth international is a well-established regular for the Palace team. He played an important role last season as he was involved in a total of 40 first-team matches and racked up 3,000 minutes. The 21-year-old was involved in a total of 13 goals, 11 of which were assists.

He has been in red-hot form of late and despite having three years left on his deal with the Eagles, there are high chances of him joining Chelsea in the ongoing transfer window.

The Blues have been after his signatures for a while. They were in talks with the player’s club as well as his camp. Meanwhile, the player is keen on making the move to the London club.

Following the player’s approval, Chelsea have decided to trigger his release. They are ready to pay the £35 million for the 21-year-old who has been in sensational form over the last 12 months. While they already have some high-quality wingers, his arrival will only strengthen the Blues’.

The deal is now in the final stages, and the talks are progressing as all parties are set to meet and finalise the transfer. While the player is ready to join Chelsea, the final details of the contract are yet to be fixed. They are expected to be done in the coming days and soon there could be an official announcement of the deal.
