Real Madrid, Chelsea, and Manchester United turned down the opportunity to sign Neymar, who will soon join Saudi Arabian Al-Hilal.

According to a report by The Independent, intermediaries offered several high-profile clubs the chance to sign Neymar. These included Real Madrid, Chelsea, and Manchester United. But the trio and others have rejected the opportunity to sign the Brazilian international, who will soon join Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal.

Neymar has seen his stock dwindle in the last few months. Once widely regarded as one of the best players in the world, he has become a peripheral figure for Paris Saint-Germain. And the 31-year-old will soon move to Saudi Arabia, where will join Al-Hilal.

The Brazilian international had an excellent 2022/23 campaign despite another injury-riddled season. But a tally of 18 goals and 17 assists in 29 appearances is top-notch. However, that has not done much to keep him in Luis Enrique’s good books. And the new PSG manager has sanctioned his sale. Meanwhile, clubs like Real Madrid, Chelsea, and Manchester United had the chance to secure Neymar’s services.

Recent reports even suggested that Chelsea considered signing the former Barcelona attacker, with Mauricio Pochettino driving the bid. But the report claims that the Blues have rejected the opportunity to secure Neymar’s services. And the decision seems sensible, considering Pochettino has a bloated squad to manage at Chelsea.

Like the West London club, Real Madrid and Manchester United have also turned down the chance to land him. The decision from both clubs makes sense, considering they do not have a viable open spot in their squads.

Vinicius Junior has the left-wing berth locked at Real Madrid. On the other hand, Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho are nailed on as the options for the flank at Manchester United. Meanwhile, Barcelona had been keen on re-signing Neymar, even agreeing to personal terms with him. But the Blaugrana will not land the Brazilian international, as he is Saudi Arabia-bound.

The 31-year-old will move to Al-Hilal in the coming days. And Barcelona’s dreams of securing Neymar’s services will go up in smokes. As for Chelsea, Manchester United and Real Madrid, they will unlikely sign another attacker this summer.
