Liverpool recently submitted an enquiry to Real Madrid over a possible move for French midfield powerhouse Aurelien Tchouameni.
According to The Secret Scout, Aurelien Tchouameni remains the subject of interest from Liverpool. And the Reds have approached Real Madrid over the prospect of signing the 23-year-old midfielder. The report adds that Los Blancos might make either him or Federico Valverde, another Liverpool target, available this summer.
Aurelien Tchouameni is one of the best young midfielders in the world. He made his name during his stints with Bordeaux and AS Monaco before joining Real Madrid in a deal worth €80 million last summer. And Liverpool had been keen on landing him before he decided to turn out for Los Blancos instead.
Meanwhile, the French midfielder was a regular for Real Madrid last term but saw his stock drop somewhat towards the end of the season. However, he has started the 2023/24 season strongly, playing 90 minutes against Athletic Club this past weekend. Meanwhile, Tchouameni’s stature remains high, with Liverpool still interested in him.
As iterated earlier, the Reds were keen on securing Tchouameni’s services before he joined Real Madrid. But Liverpool’s interest in the 23-year-old has not waned in the last 12 months. And after losing the race to sign Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia, Liverpool will return to the market for a midfield reinforcement.

Tchouameni is one of the targets on Liverpool’s radar, with the Merseyside club also interested in Federico Valverde. And the report claims that Real Madrid might make one of the two midfielders available for transfer this summer. But Los Blancos’ stance seems surprising, considering how important both players are to Carlo Ancelotti.
In addition, with Luka Modric and Toni Kroos approaching the twilight of their careers, Real Madrid should not sell any younger midfielders. But if the claims from the report are true, Liverpool might have a bright chance of securing either Valverde or Tchouameni’s services. Meanwhile, Real Madrid will likely demand more than the €80 million they paid to land the latter.
But recent reports have claimed that Tchouameni does not want to leave Real Madrid. Meanwhile, The Athletic has claimed that Real Madrid will not entertain offers for the French midfield powerhouse. So a deal for the 23-year-old might not see the light of day.
