Manchester United have scouted Khephren Thuram and could ponder a move for the French midfielder if the conditions are right.

According to Get Football News France, Manchester United had sent scouts to watch Khephren Thuram in action this week ahead of a possible approach. OGC Nice value the midfielder at around €40-50 million and remain open to a sale if the conditions are right.

Manchester United are far from done with their transfer business and could look add further incomings before the window shuts. Erik ten Hag still needs a new midfielder and a defender to close their squad for the remainder of the season or at least until January.

The Red Devils had been in search of a new defender to offset the proposed departure of Harry Maguire. OGC Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo remains a target, and Manchester United scouts were present to watch him play against LOSC Lille. But they monitored another star in the Ligue 1 game.

Khephren Thuram, who had links to Liverpool earlier this summer, has now emerged as a Manchester United midfield target. OGC Nice are open to a sale of the midfielder if they can get the right price, with the 21-year-old rated at €40-50 million.

Liverpool were also notified of the asking price earlier but cooled their interest to pursue other targets, namely Romeo Lavia. Since then, the chase for Thuram has considerably cooled off, with Manchester United now set to revive the hunt.

There was considerable interest in Thuram, including Liverpool, meaning those other sides could approach before the window shuts. Hence, Manchester United must make headway and get an agreement with OGC Nice quickly.

Manchester United also remain linked with Sofyan Amrabat. But of late, there has been little news about the Moroccan international. They must have seen Thuram in detail alongside his Nice teammate Todibo. There is a possibility they might make a double move. But the Red Devils are also looking at other defensive options.

Those include Edmond Tapsoba and Bayern Munich’s Benjamin Pavard, with the latter’s versatility making him the favourite to arrive at Old Trafford. As for Thuram, he could become a big target for ten Hag, with the €40-50 million-rated French midfielder’s style more suited to their cause than probably Amrabat from a stylistic view.
