Chelsea prodigy Cesare Casadei will join Championship side Leicester City on loan, with Foxes coach Enzo Maresca key to this deal.

Fabrizio Romano broke the news about Leicester City’s loan agreement with Chelsea for prodigious talent Cesare Casadei. The Blues are keen to give the 20-year-old ample experience to nurture his talent and integrate him into their first-team plans next season.

Experts considered Cesare Casadei a real coup when Chelsea signed him off Inter Milan last summer. The 20-year-old was not regarded as ready for the first-team plans, which prompted the Blues to send him on a loan move to Reading in January.

The move paid dividends, as Casadei became a regular with Reading, making 15 appearances in the Championship. The Chelsea prodigy then went on to star for Italy in the U20 World Cup, winning the Golden Boot and the Golden Boy awards.

Chelsea sees a big future for the 20-year-old, and Mauricio Pochettino had a closer look during pre-season. Casadei did manage a few appearances during the US tour. But the club saw the need to give him a regular season elsewhere, so the loan option became important.

There was interest from a Premier League side earlier in the window, but Casadei may not have played regularly. The idea for Chelsea is to give the player time on the pitch to nurture his talent.

They may have also rejected the idea of a return to Italy, with Genoa keen on the midfielder. Some English sides have been reportedly interested in the Chelsea prodigy, and now Leicester City has agreed on a loan deal with the Blues.

The Foxes have been keen on the midfielder for some time now, and their manager Enzo Maresca proved key to this deal. The Italian may know how to use Casadei in his system and help Leicester push for a return to the Premier League.

Leicester City have made five signings in the summer and hope to make Casadei their sixth addition. Harry Winks and Conor Coady highlight their window. The duo will bring experience around other stars in their new system under Maresca.

Casadei could have a regular spot on their side, and Maresca could enhance his ability to score plenty of goals for the team. Overall, the loan to Leicester seems like a brilliant idea for the 20-year-old Chelsea prodigy, as there’s hope he will shine there.
