Championship club Leicester City are keen on having the 20-year-old Chelsea midfielder Cesare Casadei in their ranks.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Leicester City are looking to bolster their squad in the ongoing transfer window and they have their eyes set on Cesare Casadei. The 20-year-old midfielder has gone from strength to strength over the last 12 months and there is a lot of interest in his services.

Casadei came through the ranks at Inter Milan before making the switch to Chelsea last summer. After spending six months at the Blues’ under-21 setup, the Italian youth international was loaned out to Reading in the winter of 2023. He went on to feature in 15 matches in the second half of the season and even contributed with a goal.

The 20-year-old has returned to his parent club and has been promoted to their first team. While he is now officially a part of the senior team, the Italian Under-20 star is unlikely to get enough game time. As a result, they are ready to loan him out for the 2023-24 season.

Premier League club Aston Villa were interested in the 20-year-old’s services but at this point in time Leicester City are in the driving seat. The Foxes are keen on having the Italian youth international in their ranks and they have been in talks with the Blues of late.

Leicester had a forgettable outing last season as they ended up getting relegated to the second division. The 2-15-16 Premier League champions ended up finishing 18th on the points table and will now feature in the Championship next season.

The relegation has resulted in a financial loss for the Foxes and they have already offloaded a few of their players. Despite that, they are hoping to push for promotion and are looking to bolster their squad in the best possible way.

Their manager Enzo Maresca is a big fan of the Italian youth international and is pushing for his signature. He is keen on having him in his ranks. The Foxes have been in talks with Chelsea over a loan deal. The talks are in the final stages and they are pushing to get the final green light as soon as possible.
