Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino is not interested in having 31-year-old Brazilian international Neymar in his ranks.

According to a report by Evening Standard, Mauricio Pochettino has no intentions of reuniting with Neymar at Chelsea. Paris Saint-Germain are ready to offload the 31-year-old Brazilian international and he has been linked with a move to the Blues. But, the former Spurs boss is not keen on having him in his ranks.

The duo have worked together at PSG back in the day and a reunion was on the cards. But, Pochettino believes a move for the Brazil international is not financially viable. And, on top of that, he is not confident that the 31-year-old has the right profile for the style of football he wants to play at Chelsea.

The Blues are keen on signing players who are young and have huge potential. And, Neymar is not the right fit for the club’s project. Sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley are working closely with Pochettino to sign players that will fit the project and they don’t seem to be interested in the 31-year-old.

Neymar joined PSG back in 2017 for a world-record fee from Barcelona. The 31-year-old was signed to help them win the Champions League but he has failed to deliver so far. While he has incredible numbers while playing for the French club, he has been injured at crucial stages of the season over the years.

Last season he missed a handful of matches because of injury. The former Barcelona star featured in a total of just 29 matches and was on the pitch for less than 2400 minutes. However, he still managed to contribute towards 35 goals. He found the back of the net on 18 occasions and also bagged 17 assists.

While he still has two years left on his deal at PSG, the club are ready to offload him. They are ready to accept an offer between £60 to £70 million for the 31-year-old. Even the player is ready for a new challenge. While he prefers rejoining Barcelona, a move to the Catalan giants is also unlikely given their financial situation and the project under Xavi.
