Ajax forward Mohammed Kudus has been linked with a move to the Premier League in recent weeks, with Brighton & Hove Albion set to sign him.
Chelsea were keen on signing Mohammed Kudus. But a report from The Athletic claims that Brighton and Hove have now agreed on a deal with Ajax. It will be interesting to see if Brighton can agree personal terms with the 22-year-old ahead of the summer move.
The Ghanaian attacker will cost €40 million this summer, and he should prove to be a quality acquisition for Brighton. The Seagulls had an impressive 2022/23 campaign, and they will be looking to build on their performances and scale get greater heights next year.
Someone like Kudus is a major coup for them, and the 22-year-old could transform them in the final third. The Ajax forward is capable of playing anywhere across the front three, and his versatility will be an added bonus.
Brighton already have quality attackers like Evan Ferguson and Kaoru Mitoma at their disposal. Kudus could form a lethal partnership with the two players next season. The 22-year-old scored 18 goals last season, and he will add cutting edge to the Brighton attack in the final third.
Chelsea have been heavily linked with a move for the player in recent weeks, and they will be disappointed to have missed out on him. The Blues could certainly use a versatile forward like Kudus.
Chelsea struggle to find the back of the net consistently, and they will have to plug the gaps in their attack before the summer transfer window closes. Nicolas Jackson has been brought in to add goals to the side. But Mauricio Pochettino should ideally look to invest in another quality forward before the summer transfer window closes.
Now that Chelsea have missed out on Kudus, it will be interesting to see who they end up signing. The Blues have been heavily linked with a move for Dusan Vlahovic from Juventus in recent weeks. The Serb had a disappointing 2022/24 campaign, and he will be hoping to get his career back on track with a fresh start. A move to Chelsea would be ideal for him.
