West Ham United are looking to bring in midfield reinforcements this summer and have identified Denis Zakaria as a potential target.

According to The Athletic, West Ham United are keen on signing Denis Zakaria, who was on loan at Chelsea last season. Apparently, they were hoping to sign the 26-year-old Swiss international on a loan deal. But the talks have now reached an impasse.

It will be interesting to see if West Ham can convince Juventus to send the player out on loan this summer. The Italian giants were hoping to sell him permanently this summer. It is evident that Zakaria is not in the long-term plans of the Bianconeri. So it makes sense for them to move him on and invest the proceeds from the sale into another player.

Meanwhile, West Ham need to bring in midfield reinforcements this summer, and Zakaria has emerged as a viable target, despite not making a major impact at Chelsea last season. The 26-year-old did show his quality in patches and he could be a key player for West Ham if he manages to regain his form and confidence.

It will be interesting to see how the situation develops over the next few weeks. West Ham recently sanctioned the departure of Declan Rice for a British transfer record fee, and they will need to replace him adequately.

They are yet to bring in a single signing and have been linked with players like Conor Gallagher in recent weeks. The Chelsea midfielder is reportedly keen on staying at Stamford Bridge beyond this summer and Zakaria could be an alternative.

The Swiss international will look to get his career back on track with regular football. So a move to West Ham could be ideal for him. The Hammers are likely to give him ample playing time. West Ham will be competing in the UEFA Europa League next season, and they will need a bigger squad to do well across multiple competitions.

The presence of European football at the London club makes it an attractive destination for players, and Zakaria is likely to be open to the move if the two clubs can agree on a deal. But with talks stalling, a summer deal might not materialise.

Westham must not make a costly gamble on Zakaria . Juve bought him for 8 million and then he failed and so that’s his top value not 20 million which is laughable . Westham could offer 8 million or a loan with option to buy for cheap and use him as a squad player and therefore not cause FFP problems . Westhsm are on the edge of FFP violations and must be careful not to get kicked out of European competition .
