Manchester United have finally submitted an official bid to acquire the services of 26-year-old Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.

According to Alfredo Pedullà, Fiorentina have received an official bid from Manchester United for Sofyan Amrabat. The Red Devils are keen on bolstering their squad ahead of next season and have their eyes set on the 26-year-old, who has been in excellent form over the past 18 months.

Amrabat has been doing wonders of late, and there is a lot of interest in his services from across Europe. But, it looks like he could be on his way to Manchester United, who are making moves to land him at the club before the start of next season.

The 26-year-old came into the limelight on the back of his heroics at the FIFA World Cup 2022. He was amongst the best players in the tournament and played a huge part in helping Morocco reach the semi-finals of the global event and become the first African nation to do so.

His form for his club was not bad either as the Moroccan international helped them reach two finals in the 2022/23 season. Amrabat was in demand back in January as well but a move could not work out back then. However, a transfer to a bigger club in the ongoing window looks imminent.

His contract with Fiorentina runs out in the summer of 2024. And, with just a year left on his deal, the Italian club do not really have many options to play with. They cannot risk losing out on him for free. As a result, they are ready to negotiate his departure. According to multiple reports, a fee of around €35 million could be enough to prise him away from Italy.

While the details of Manchester United’s official bid are not clear yet, one would expect it to be close to the asking price of Fiorentina. The Red Devils have already strengthened their midfield by signing Mason Mount. But, they are keen on having someone with a bit more physicality and defensive abilities. As a result, the 26-year-old could be a great fit.

He could form a deadly double pivot in the centre of the park with Casemiro. This will sort out the majority of the defensive concerns and allow them to be a bit more free-flowing going forward. The Red Devils are trying their best to get this deal over the line, and there could be major updates coming our way in the next few days. Meanwhile, personal terms should not be an issue.
