Manchester United are yet to cool their interest in 25-year-old Dutch international Justin Bijlow, but a move is unlikely.

According to a report by Dutch outlet 1908.nl, Justin Bijlow remains the subject of interest from Manchester United. The 25-year-old was a top target for the Red Devils before they secured the services of Andre Onana. And he is still on the Premier League club’s radar. But Feyenoord will look to tie him to a new contract in the coming weeks.

Justin Bijlow is a native of Rotterdam and has spent his entire youth and professional career in the city. A graduate of the Feyenoord Academy, the Dutchman has been the first-choice goalkeeper for the club for several seasons. And he has also featured regularly for the Oranje in the last two years.

The 25-year-old has turned out over 100 times thus far for Feyenoord, keeping 45 clean sheets. And Bijlow’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs. Meanwhile, Feyenoord will look to secure the Dutch international’s long-term future in the coming weeks. And he is a target for Manchester United.

Bijlow emerged on Manchester United’s radar earlier this month as they looked for a long-term successor to David de Gea. The Spaniard departed from Old Trafford as a free agent at the end of June. And with Manchester United deciding not to tie the 32-year-old to a new contract, they set their sights on several goalkeepers.

Manchester United even informed Feyenoord of the interest in securing Bijlow’s services. But they turned their attention towards Andre Onana, who has arrived at Old Trafford in a big-money deal. However, Manchester United might not be done investing in goalkeepers this summer.

Dean Henderson faces an uncertain future at Manchester United, while Tom Heaton is a target for Premier League clubs. So the Red Devils are keeping their options open and scouring the market for a backup goalkeeper. Bijlow is thus a viable target for the English heavyweights.

But a summer move seems unlikely, considering Bijlow will unlikely accept being a backup shot-stopper. So Feyenoord should ideally succeed in tying the 25-year-old Dutch international to a new contract. Nonetheless, it will be interesting to see if Manchester United will make a move.
