Callum Hudson-Odoi has been linked with a move away from Chelsea this summer, amd he is keen on joining Serie A club Lazio.

A report from Tutto Mercato Web claims that Callum Hudson-Odoi is keen on joining Serie A giants Lazio in the ongoing transfer window. And the Blues are open to sanctioning the departure of the 22-year-old.

There have been reports that Chelsea could allow the player to leave the club for a fee of around £10 million this summer. Hudson-Odoi was on loan at Bayer Leverkusen last season, and he is unlikely to get regular game time at Stamford Bridge next year. It makes sense for him to move on in search of regular playing time.

The 22-year-old is highly rated in English football. But he needs to play regularly in order to continue his development. It remains to be seen whether Lazio are prepared to offer him regular first-team opportunities next season.

The youngster was expected to develop into a key player for Chelsea when he broke through to the first-team scene. However, things have not worked out for him, and he has found himself on the fringes of the first team. He was sent out on loan to gain valuable first-team experience last season.

The player will look to get his career back on track with a permanent move away from Stamford Bridge now. Lazio could definitely use quality attackers, and the 22-year-old Chelsea winger could prove to be a superb, long-term acquisition.

There is no doubt that Hudson-Odoi has the potential to develop into a top-class winger, and he will certainly end up justifying the £10 million investment in the coming seasons. If he manages to hit the ground running in Serie A and fulfil his potential with Lazio, the Biancocelesti will be able to sell him for a hefty profit in the near future.

As for Chelsea, they have already invested in a number of wide players recently. And it makes sense for them to cash in on Hudson-Odoi and invest the proceeds from the sale to improve the other areas of their squad. Chelsea will look to bounce back strongly and secure Champions League qualification next season. They need to bring in the right reinforcements before the transfer window closes.
