Harry Kane is showing more interest in joining Manchester United over Bayern Munich in the ongoing transfer window.

According to Football Insider, Tottenham Hotspur superstar Harry Kane is keen to make a summer switch to Manchester United despite interest from Bayern Munich.

The 29-year-old is in the final year of his current deal at Spurs and is yet to pen a fresh contract. With no progress on that front so far, time is running out for Tottenham to make a decision.

There is fresh optimism at N17 following Ange Postecoglou’s, arrival and a new dawn awaits Tottenham as they try to rebuild and return to the UEFA Champions League. Having their best player flirting with an exit just weeks before the new season starts is never an appealing thought.

There is no shortage of interest in the English skipper, with both Bayern Munich and Manchester United very keen. Tottenham are ready to cash in. But negotiations with another Premier League side such as Manchester United is never easy, especially with Daniel Levy in charge.

While he is unlikely to let Bayern off the hook either, the chances of him coming to an agreement with a foreign club is more likely. It would suit Kane given that Bayern have shown the most interest in signing him this summer and have already made two failed bids for his signature

Thomas Tuchel is an admirer of the 29-year-old and is in need of an infallible goalscorer. The Sadio Mane experiment has not worked out, and Die Roten have failed to adequately replace Robert Lewandowski. Kane is one of the finest goalscorers of his generation and should have what it takes to take the Polish ace’s spot.

Bayern have a creative core that can take their talent to a new level behind a reliable forward. Kane’s ability to not just find the back of the net but also drop deeper to bring others into play should see the likes of Jamal Musiala, Leroy Sane, Serge Gnarby, Thomas Muller and Kingsley Coman among others thrive.

Manchester United are also in the market for a striker but are yet to move for Kane. Their attention is focussed on Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund, a deal that could turn difficult especially if Paris Saint-Germain end up netting millions for Kylian Mbappe.

Kane moving to Germany will end the prospect of him overtaking Alan Shearer as the top goalscorer in Premier League history. But then, it could finally end his lack of silverware and finally add a bit of glamour to what has otherwise been a truly brilliant career. Nonetheless, his preference remains to join Manchester United if there is a possibility of a move.
