Lazio are keen on having the 22-year-old Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi in their ranks ahead of next season.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Lazio are leading the race for the signatures of Callum Hudson-Odoi. The Italian giants are keen on bolstering their attack and have their eyes set on the 22-year-old England international.

Hudson-Odoi’s future has been the talk of the town for a while now. With his contract expiring in the summer of 2024, the Blues are ready to offload him in the ongoing transfer window.

The 22-year-old has been a part of the Chelsea setup since his childhood days. He has come up the ranks at the club and has been a part of their first-team setup for a while now.

The England international has featured in 126 matches for the Blues’ first team and has contributed towards 38 goals. While he has done his bit, the 22-year-old hasn’t yet managed to establish himself as a first-team regular.

After signing multiple players last summer, the Blues decided to send Hudson-Odoi out on loan to Bayer Leverkusen. The loan move didn’t go according to plan for the Chelsea forward as he featured in a total of just 21 matches and was on the pitch for just over 1000 minutes. All he could manage was one goal and an assist.

After a disappointing spell, he has returned back to his parent club. But, there seems to be no future for him at the London club. With his contract expiring in a year’s time, they are ready to offload him.

There is serious interest in the 22-year-old’s services from a Premier League club. But, according to Romano, Lazio are the ones leading the race for his signatures.

The Italian club are looking to bolster their attack ahead of next season and are ready to invest in the England international despite his poor outing last season. They believe he can turn things around and be a great asset for them.

Maurizio Sarri is a big admirer of the English forward and feels his versatility could do wonders for them. The Italian club have been in talks with the Blues for a while now.

The talks are progressing nicely and are in advanced stages. The player is also interested in making the move to Lazio. Taking all things into consideration, there is a real possibility that the two clubs will reach an agreement in the near future.
