Arsenal are keen on signing Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain and are ready to offload Gabriel Martinelli to fund the deal.

Kylian Mbappe has refused to sign a new contract with Paris Saint-Germain, and he has been put up for sale this summer. A report from Football Transfers claims that Arsenal could look to make a move for him during the January transfer window at the end of the season.

Mbappe has a contract with PSG until the summer of 2024. The report further states that Arsenal are willing to sweeten the deal for the French outfit by offering them Gabriel Martinelli as a part of the deal.

The 22-year-old Brazilian was outstanding for Arsenal last season, and he has the potential to develop into a top-class player. He is unlikely to have any shortage of suitors, and a move to PSG could appeal to him if there is a concrete offer on the table.

Meanwhile, Mbappe is one of the best players in the world, and signing someone of his quality could prove to be a massive boost for Arsenal. The Gunners came close to winning the league title last season, and they will look to build on it and go all the way this time around.

They have been very active and intelligent in the transfer market so far, and they have already plugged a number of gaps in their squad. Arsenal have signed Declan Rice, Jurrien Timber, and Kai Havertz so far.

There is no doubt that Mbappe would improve Arsenal immensely. So the interest in the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner is understandable. But the decision to sanction the departure of Martinelli might not go down well with the fans.

The 22-year-old happens to be a fan favourite at the Emirates and his eye-catching displays have earned rave reviews over the past year. Martinelli is expected to develop into a world-class player, and Arsenal could regret the decision to let him leave this summer.

Meanwhile, Mbappe has been linked with clubs like Real Madrid and Liverpool as well. And it will be interesting to see if he’s willing to complete a move away from the French club this summer. While Real Madrid are Mbappe’s dream destination, Liverpool have chased him for a long time.

It goes without saying that the French international will improve any of his suitors, including Arsenal, Liverpool, and Real Madrid. PSG will not want to lose him on a free transfer, and it makes sense for them to sell the player this summer because his contract expires next year.

  2. Lies! Mbape used a figurative speech and said if at all he plans playing in the Premiership, Arsenal remain the preferred Club.
    1. Arsenal through Wenger got to know Mbape when his Club, AS Monaco didn’t even know the jewel they had in their hands. It was only providence that took Mbape somewhere else. Wenger was reported by same Mbape to have visited his family in their home to get him signed.
    2. Mbape’s statement is figurative to mean, he’s not yet coming to Premiership. In football, you can never tell. When Guardiola was asked about his interest in Mbape, his only was only ” All of you know where he wants to go” Guardiola has therefore summarized the the life ambition of Mbape.
I can’t imagine Arsenal selling an up and coming player like Martineli to purchase Mbape. Mbape’s project is a special one for any intending buyer, moreso with his complicated situation at PSG. It’s a club like Real Madrid that had for long taken interest in having him ever before he joined PSG and still unrelenting since then that must have gotten well prepared to do everything to having him. At the moment, Arsenal cannot and wouldn’t!

PSG will not get more than £60 million for him due to his high wage demand and only one year remaing on his contract. They would save face with their fans by offering him for a player swap, like Mbappe for Balogan plus cash, who Arsenal value at £50 to £60 million.
