Crystal Palace are reportedly keen on signing 20-year-old Montpellier forward Elye Wahi, a target for Chelsea, this summer.

According to a report from French publication L’Equipe, Crystal Palace have now submitted a verbal offer to sign Elye Wahi, a target for Chelsea. The 20-year-old attacker scored 19 goals in Ligue 1 last season.

The talented young attacker had an exceptional campaign with Montpellier, and he ended the season with 19 goals and six assists across all competitions. The player is reportedly a target for Premier League giants Chelsea as well.

The 20-year-old is highly rated in Europe, and he has a big future ahead of him. Crystal Palace would do well to secure his services this summer. But it remains to be seen whether they can fend off the competition from Chelsea in the coming weeks.

Crystal Palace need to improve their attacking options this summer, especially after the departure of Wilfried Zaha. Someone like Wahi could be a key player for them in the coming seasons, and he could develop into a reliable Premier League goalscorer.

The Eagles have a number of talented young players at their disposal like Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise. Wahi would be another superb long-term acquisition for the London club. Meanwhile, they have shown interest in several strikers, including Divock Origi.

The opportunity to move to the Premier League will be an attractive option for the 20-year-old striker. But it remains to be seen where he ends up. Crystal Palace had a disappointing 2022/23 campaign, and they will be desperate to bounce back strongly and push for a top-half finish.
