Manchester United will need to fork out €40-50 million to sign 28-year-old German international Leon Goretzka from Bayern Munich.
According to a report by Sky Germany, Leon Goretzka is the subject of interest from Manchester United. The Red Devils are closely monitoring the situation of the 28-year-old at Bayern Munich. Meanwhile, the Bundesliga champions will demand around €40-50 million to part ways with the midfielder.
Leon Goretzka has been a regular for Bayern Munich since arriving from Schalke 04 in July 2018. The German international was one of the best young midfielders in his homeland when he left his boyhood club as a free agent. And he has come leaps and bounds at the Allianz Arena in the last half a decade.
The 28-year-old has turned out 178 times thus far for Bayern Munich while chipping in with 34 goals and 35 assists. Goretzka’s stock has risen exponentially, considering he has been the first-choice midfield partner for Joshua Kimmich. But he faces an uncertain future at Bayern Munich following the arrival of Konrad Laimer.
With the former RB Leipzig midfielder likely to be Kimmich’s partner in the upcoming season, Goretzka’s situation at Bayern Munich has worsened. And he is surplus to requirements at the Allianz Arena, with Bayern slapping a price tag worth €40-50 million on him. Meanwhile, the player is a target for Manchester United.
Manchester United have been active in the market thus far in the summer transfer window, even though they have not made many signings. But the Red Devils have bolstered their midfield unit by securing the services of Mason Mount. And Andre Onana will be the second summer arrival for Manchester United.

And if Bayern Munich’s asking fee does not change, Manchester United will unlikely pay €40-50 million and look at other options to bolster the midfield unit.
