Manchester United are reportedly keen on signing 28-year-old German international midfielder Leon Goretzka.
Leon Goretzka is looking to continue at Bayern Munich. But his future remains uncertain because of the Bundesliga club’s interest in signing Declan Rice. According to Florian Plettenberg, Manchester United are looking to take advantage of the situation and sign the 28-year-old.
Goretzka has been a key player for Bayern Munich since joining the club, and he could prove to be a solid acquisition for Manchester United. The 28-year-old will add defensive cover, physicality and creativity to the side as well.
The German international is at the peak of his powers right now, with his market value rising to €65 million. And he could be the ideal partner for Casemiro at the heart of Manchester United’s midfield. The 28-year-old would be a massive upgrade on players like Scott McTominay and Fred.
The German international has six goals and six assists to his name across all competitions this season, and he has the ability to make an immediate impact in the Premier League. His technical attributes and physicality should help him adapt to English football quickly. So he could be a key player for Manchester United next season.
It will be interesting to see if Bayern Munich are ready to let the player leave this summer. The report claims that the 28-year-old does not want to leave the Bundesliga champions anytime soon. But with Bayern interested in Declan Rice, Manchester United are monitoring his situation.

Apparently, the German giants are ready to pay the big bucks Rice from West Ham United. Rice has established himself as one of the best defensive midfielders in the Premier League. So it is hardly a surprise that the top European clubs are looking to sign him.
As far as Goretzka is concerned, it might be in the German club’s interest to cash in on him and invest in younger players with higher ceilings now. Such a move would certainly benefit Manchester United if they can sign him.
The Red Devils have done well this season and have returned to the Champions League. They made it to the final of the FA Cup and won the League Cup as well. Erik ten Hag will be hoping to go all the way in the league next season and compete for the title.
He needs experienced and established players to compete with Manchester City. So Goretzka could prove to be a superb acquisition. The Red Devils signed Casemiro from Real Madrid last summer, and the Brazilian managed to make an immediate impact and improve the club substantially. Goretzka could make a similar impact in the Premier League for them.
