According to a report by Football Insider, Achraf Hakimi wants to join Manchester City. The 24-year-old Paris Saint-German full-back has the desire of playing in the Premier League. He wants to work under Pep Guardiola and is ready to make the move in the ongoing summer transfer window.
Meanwhile, Manchester City are preparing for life without Kyle Walker. The England international is very close to making the move to German giants Bayern Munich. They are keen on having Walker in their ranks and even the player wants the move.
Walker has agreed on personal terms with Bayern and a deal in the region of £15 million could see him join the team in Red. With the 33-year-old all set to leave the club, City are looking at potential options to replace him. And, Hakimi is one of the names on the list.
The 24-year-old full-back is hugely admired by Guardiola as well as the City recruitment team. And, they would love to have him in their ranks. The English club are aware of the fact that they might have to pay a significant price for his services but are still ready to make a move.
They want to freshen up their defence and are willing to go big on a new full-back. The 24-year-old had an impressive season last time out and he will surely be a great addition to the City ranks.
However, Benjamin Pavard is also a part of their target list. With City already in talks with Bayern for the Walker deal, there could be a possibility of them pushing for the French full-back’s signatures. As per the report, the German giants are open to a deal for the right-back.
As a result, there is a real possibility that Pavard could become a part of a swap deal. He could join City in return for Walker plus cash. And, Hakimi’s desire of playing in the Premier League under Guardiola might have to take a back seat.
