Aston Villa are keen on signing Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby, but they have failed with an approach for him.

A report from 90min claims that Aston Villa recently submitted an offer to sign Moussa Diaby. But the Bayer Leverkusen have turned them down and are asking for a fee of around €60 million.

The 24-year-old had an outstanding campaign in the Bundesliga last year, scoring 14 goals and picking up 11 assists across all competitions. The French winger has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs in recent months and it will be interesting to see where he ends up.

Aston Villa have an ambitious project, and they have a top-class manager like Unai Emery in charge. So it is hardly surprising that they have been keen on securing Diaby’s services in the summer transfer window.

They will look to attract the best young talents so that they can put together a formidable squad. Diaby would certainly improve them in the final third. The Frenchman can operate on either flank, and he will add goals and creativity to the Aston Villa side. It will be interesting to see if Aston Villa decide to improve on their offer for the player.

Diaby is highly talented, and working under a manager like Emery could help him develop further and fulfil his tremendous potential. In addition to that, regular football in the Premier League could accelerate his development. He will be competing with top-class defenders on a weekly basis. So a move to Aston Villa would certainly be a step up from the Bundesliga.

Although the €60 million asking price seems quite steep right now, the 24-year-old is young enough to justify the investment in the long run. The player has the ability to succeed in the Premier League and make an immediate impact at Aston Villa.

His arrival will help create more goalscoring opportunities for players like Ollie Watkins as well and Aston Villa are likely to improve as a squad. They will be competing against top European teams next season, and Aston Villa will have to plug the gaps in their squad during the summer transfer window.

If Aston Villa want to sign this player and personally I believe this would be a very good acquisition they should increase the offer and get it done before someone else beats them to it. It’s a lot of money but he’s a young player with a massive future and he would slot straight in. He’s also a big friend of Bailey.

    Just get it done Villa
