West Ham United have been linked with a move for 26-year-old Juventus midfielder Denis Zakaria.

According to a report by Tuttosport via Sport Witness West Ham United have now scheduled fresh talks to sign 26-year-old Juventus midfielder Denis Zakaria, who was on loan at Chelsea last season.

The Swiss international struggled for regular game time at Stamford Bridge. So it remains to be seen whether he can make an impact at West Ham and forget about the Chelsea nightmare if the transfer goes through.

The Hammers need to bring in central midfield reinforcements, especially with Declan Rice moving on. The England international is set to join Arsenal this summer. There is no doubt that Zakaria has the quality to be an important player for West Ham.

But he needs to regain his confidence and form. Regular football with the Hammers will certainly help the 26-year-old get back to his best. Recent reports have suggested that West Ham have been preparing a bid to sign the Chelsea flop.

He was highly rated around Europe during his time in Germany, and it will be interesting to see if he can regain that form. The 26-year-old Swiss international does not have a future in Italy with Juventus. So a permanent exit from the club this summer would be ideal for all parties.

If West Ham can promise him regular game time, the 26-year-old Chelsea flop could be tempted to join them. In addition to that, West Ham United have secured qualification to the UEFA Europa League, and Zakaria will be able to compete at a high level with them.

West Ham certainly have the finances to get the deal done especially once the departure of Rice is confirmed. The 26-year-old is in his peak years and he will look to get his career back on track with the move to West Ham.

Zakaria has the physicality and technical attributes to do well in English football and he showed his quality at times during his spell at Chelsea. Given the fact that Juventus do not consider him a part of their plans going forward, the player could be available for a reasonable price this summer. West Ham should look to snap him up on a bargain.

Zakaria flopped for Juve after they bought him for 8 million . Why are Westham potentially paying 20 million for an over priced flop ? Further more , he flopped for Chelsea ( same mistake made with Vlasic who flopped for Everton under Moyes ) . Clearly Juve are desperately trying to dump him . He’s only worth 5 million on paper and so that should be Westham’s limit for a squad player .
