Chelsea plot big money move for Dusan Vlahovic

Chelsea are ready to break the bank and acquire the services of the 23-year-old Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via Sport Witness, Chelsea are keen on having Dusan Vlahovic in their ranks ahead of next season. The Blues are looking for a new number nine and have their eyes set on the 23-year-old Juventus striker.

Vlahovic hasn’t had the best of times since joining the Old Lady back in the winter of 2022. The Serbian international has featured in a total of 63 matches and has managed to find the back of the net on only 23 occasions.

While the numbers are decent, it is not what was expected from the 23-year-old when Juventus splashed the cash to sign him from Fiorentina. And, at this point in time, the Italian giants are in a very critical situation because of financial as well as legal issues.

They are looking to reinforce their squad ahead of next season under the leadership of the new director of football Cristiano Giuntoli. However, they do not have the funds to push for new signings. They will have to initiate a few big sales to ensure they have enough funds to reinforce their squad.

Dusan Vlahovic is one of their most prized assets and given the amount of interest in his services, he can surely bring in a lot of cash. As a result, they are ready to part ways with the Serbian international but are looking for a fee close to €80 million.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are interested in the 23-year-old. The Blues struggled in front of goal last season and are looking to sort things out by signing a new forward. After having sold Kai Havertz to Arsenal, they don’t really have many options other than to go all out for a new forward.

The Blues have their eyes on Vlahovic and are ready to break the bank to acquire him. According to the report, they are preparing an offer and the Old Lady are expecting their first bid in the coming days.

Chelsea’s initial offer could be close to €65 million while Juventus are looking for something around €80 million. The Blues will look to negotiate their way to an agreement but they will have to be vary of Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur who are also interested in the 23-year-old.
