Manchester United are eyeing a summer deal for Arsenal star Thomas Partey
According to Fichajes, Premier League giants Manchester United are eyeing a summer raid of rivals Arsenal for star midfielder Thomas Partey.
The 30-year-old moved to The Emirates from Atletico Madrid in 2020 but initially struggled. He came into his own last season and was a key part of Mikel Arteta’s ultimately failed Premier League title charge. Despite the impact he has had in north London, the African star could be set for a change in scenery.
With Declan Rice set to join Arsenal, the Gunners are set for a revamp in the middle of the park. They have already signed Kai Havertz and could even move for Romeo Lavia in the coming weeks. The revamp leaves space for Partey to move on.
Manchester United made the best of Casemiro’s experience last season as the veteran Brazilian brought his years of expertise to aid Erik ten Hag’s rebuild. The Red Devils believe Partey could rediscover his best at Old Trafford and provide us a reminder of the player who was much sought after while at Atletico.

A strong presence in the middle of the park, Partey is an upgrade over the likes of Fred and would offer Ten Hag several options in midfield. Having found his feet in the English top flight, there is little reason to believe he cannot thrive in Manchester.
Securing Partey alongside Casemiro should free up Mason Mount and Bruno Fernandes to do what they do best: push forward. On paper, the 30-year-old is exactly the player that Manchester United have been looking for to reinforce their midfield.
Arsenal do not appear to be averse to selling their star midfielder but will only do so for the right price. Whether Man United can instead opt to use the money to bring in someone younger is debatable.
However, the unsavory allegations leveled against Partey are something Man United might need to deal with should the transfer take place. Given the issues surrounding Mason Greenwood, surely the Red Devils can find less controversial additions than Partey.
