Arsenal have reached an agreement with West Ham United for the services of 24-year-old midfielder Declan Rice.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal have managed to strike a deal with West Ham United for the services of Declan Rice. The Gunners have been making moves to sign the 24-year-old for a while now and are very close to completing the transfer.

Rice has come up the ranks at West Ham and established himself as one of their most important players. While he still had a year left on his deal with the Hammers, it was pretty clear that the England international will be joining a bigger club in the ongoing summer.

Arsenal have been interested in the 24-year-old for a long time. Mikel Arteta’s team have him as their priority transfer target for the summer. And, they have been pushing for his signatures for the past month.

They managed to agree on personal terms with the player a few weeks back. And post that, they have been trying to reach an agreement with the club. The Gunners have put forward multiple offers for the 24-year-old over the past few weeks, but all their bids were rejected.

Arsenal were ready to offer around £90 million for the services of Rice but West Ham made it pretty clear they won’t do any business below the £100 million mark. Meanwhile, Manchester City entered the race for England international’s services but even they failed to reach an agreement with the Hammers.

City’s arrival meant Arsenal had to hurry in order to ensure they could land their priority transfer target. And, the Gunners finally decided to put forward a bid of £100 million plus £5 million add-ons. West Ham have communicated to Arsenal that their latest bid has been accepted. However, there are a few details that need to be taken care of.

Mikel Arteta’s team are looking to complete the payment of over £100 million in four years’ time. However, the Hammers want the payment to be completed in 18 months. Talks between the two clubs will continue but the big news is that their bid has been accepted.

The structure of the deal, the payment terms and other small details will be finalised in the near future. And, post that there will be an official confirmation of Arsenal’s club record transfer.

It’s actually £75million this year, plus £10 million each year over the first 3 years of the 6 year contract with a 7 th year extention option. That’s a fact!.
